State of Independents Midyear Review
Coming on Aug. 13, the State of Independents Midyear Review is a chance for independent home improvement retailers to take stock of the first half of 2019 and prepare for success in the months—and years—ahead.
Combining exclusive research with powerful presentations from industry leaders, the State of Independents Midyear Review is an event not to be missed. It all begins with a welcome address and midyear summary from Dan Tratensek, executive vice president of NRHA and publisher of Hardware Retailing.
Next, Jim Robisch of market research firm The Farnsworth Group will lead attendees through the many factors affecting home improvement retailing, from new trends to shifting customer preferences.
To close the session, a dynamic panel of retailers will discuss how lawn and garden has emerged as a primary driver for their businesses.
NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference
On Aug. 14, at the NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference, graduates of NRHA’s Retail Leadership Institute will unite with industry analysts, educators in entrepreneurship and others to find new ways for their businesses to succeed.
At the NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference, the first keynote speech will be presented by Wil Davis of the Ball State Innovation Corp. In his speech, “The Power of Purpose: An Independent’s Advantage in All Seasons,” attendees will learn how to create a conceptual framework to guide decision-making through various transitions in businesses.
The second keynote speech will be presented by Dr. Rob Matthews, director of the Entrepreneurial Leadership Institute of Ball State University and co-owner of M &W Gardens. His presentation will highlight five key insights for retail excellence based on his own experience as a home improvement retailer, previous consultation work and academic research.
