Millennials Crave Learning Experiences

Opportunities for learning are highly valued by the millennial population. A survey conducted by LoyaltyOne found that millennials value one-on-one consultation. In fact, 84 percent of millennials say that “being able to redeem rewards/loyalty program points for a session or consultation with a chef or nutritionist would motivate them to shop more with that grocer.” The fact that they are looking for these additional learning experiences from a grocery store correlates to what millennials want from all shopping experiences. The survey found that “69 percent said a session with a plumber or electrician would motivate them to shop more with a home improvement or renovation store.”

This is a great opportunity for home improvement stores to provide value to customers through knowledge and expertise. Offer plumbing or electrician classes at your store, and show customers the basics of each category.
