Do it Best Announces New Director of International Sales

Do it Best Corp. has named a new director of international sales with its promotion of industry veteran Scott Sproul, effective immediately.

“Do it Best is committed to be the industry’s first and best choice for independent home improvement retailers, not just in the U.S., but around the world,” says Nick Talarico, vice president of sales and business development for Do it Best. “I’m excited to have Scott step into this important leadership role. His passion, determination and strategic thinking will help fuel sales growth for our international members.”

Sproul, who most recently served as the company’s national retail performance manager, has a proven history of driving retail sales. After a successful career with an independent chain, he joined Do it Best as a territory sales manager in 1999. This was followed by a promotion to regional manager in 2007 and then leading the Retail Performance team in 2012. It was in his time in Retail Performance when he fine-tuned the formula for enhancing members’ frontline sales through improved product selection and merchandising.

In his new role, Sproul will lead a team of international sales professionals serving hardware retailers in more than 50 countries to enhance their presence and grow their market share.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to leverage a lifetime of proven best practices for our international affiliates,” says Sproul. “While every market is unique, our industry-leading distribution network, merchandising expertise and strong vendor relationships provide a winning formula for growing sales throughout the world.”

Do it Best Corp. serves thousands of member-owned locations across the U.S. and in 50 other countries. With annual sales nearing $4 billion, Do it Best Corp. is the fastest growing co-op in the industry.
